The Logan County Courthouse in Lincoln, Illinois, was built in 1905-1906, the year after the city was platted. The original courthouse in Logan County was a much smaller wooden structure that was built in 1840, before the current building was completed. It was in this original courthouse that President Abraham Lincoln practiced law. It now resides in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, MI.

The original metal covering the iconic dome, as well as the coating applied to protect it, had reached the end of its functional lifespan and needed to be replaced. Logan County decided to remove and replace all failing metal, with special attention to the natural thermal movement of the dome.

The Durable Restoration Company replaced the failing metal and created a new dome to be enjoyed by Logan County’s future generations.
