Named after Neil Armstrong, the local resident who became the first man to set foot on the moon, this Ohio Historical Society museum located in Wapakoneta, Ohio, is a modern structure built mostly underground. It chronicles Ohio’s contribution to space flight and houses many important artifacts related to space travel and the moon. We built an addition to this museum on the right side to match the existing museum that existed to the left of the dome. Having to excavate five stories below grade to complete this project, this museum shows the wide range of abilities of our restoration staff as the majority of this project from excavation to the poured concrete walls to the finish was completed with our own personnel. The addition provided the museum with additional display space and made the museum handicap accessible.
