After the steel structural rod (within the cross) started to rust and crack the stone cross, Durable Restoration stone masons were called in to repair the damage. Craftsmen removed all the rusted steel, which were replaced with stainless steel dowels. The cracked stone pieces were reattached using materials from Edison Coatings and Cathedral Stone Products (we are certified in both applications). The mortar was then color-matched to the existing stone and replaced atop the church.
